imageObjective of the Seminar

The objective of the Seminar is to encourage participation and interaction among scientists and technicians involved in small ruminant production systems, with a view to: (1) analyse the evolution and efficacy of the technologies developed during the last decades; (2) evaluate the existing small ruminant research structures and programs in the Mediterranean region and discuss developed approaches and major results obtained; and (3) present and analyse technology transfer models and tools adopted highlighting the specific roles of the different stakeholders, such as public administrations, farmers associations and private companies.

Organization and venue

The Seminar is organised by the National Institute of Agricultural Research of Morocco (INRA), through Regional Center of Agricultural Research (CRRA) of Tangier, and the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza – CIHEAM, with the collaboration of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The Seminar will be held at the Hotel Husa Solazur of Tangier (Avenue Mohamed VI - 90000 Tangier, Morocco)
Venue & Transportation

Programme

The Seminar will last two days providing a forum for scientific and technical exchanges and a one-day field trip. The scientific and technical exchanges will be structured in three sessions and a round table.


Registration

Deadline: 31 May 2013; registration and hotel reservations cannot be guaranteed after this date (information available in the Second announcement )

Before 30 April 2013, registration fees for the two days of the Seminar and the technical visit will be 250 € after which fees will be 300 €.

Fees include attendance to the Meeting scientific sessions and mid-Meeting technical tour, refreshments and lunches, welcome reception and social dinner, and a copy of the Proceedings.

Pre-booking at special prices has been arranged with the Hotel Husa Solazur (****) in Tangier.

Seminar Proceedings

The Seminar Proceedings, including the text of keynote lectures, theatre presentations and posters accepted by the scientific committee will be published in the CIHEAM journal Options Méditerranéennes. Texts are to be written in English or French.
