Mediterranean cropping systems, once diverse and resilient, now face growing challenges from climate change—such as droughts, extreme weather, and new pests—causing yield losses and ecosystem degradation. Regenerative agriculture offers a promising path to adapt and mitigate these effects by improving soil health, biodiversity, and resource efficiency through practices like cover cropping, reduced tillage, organic amendments, crop-livestock integration, and diversified rotations. These approaches can restore ecosystem functions, sequester carbon, and strengthen farmers’ socioeconomic resilience.
This webinar, organised by the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza (CIHEAM Zaragoza) and the project Remedia+ (Spanish Network on Greenhouse Gas Mitigation in Agroforestry), will explore innovative strategies, share scientific insights, and present successful cases from Mediterranean regions.
